Software and hardware engineering for a Formula 4 electric car, as an engineering partner to ERA Advanced.

Overview

ERA Advanced built the ARC4. We were their engineering partner on it, contributing to the battery pack and the 48V low-voltage system, and building the vehicle software stack and the telemetry integration that drives real-time AI coaching at a race school.

What we contributed

The ARC4 is ERA Advanced’s car. We came in as an engineering partner on the programme, not as its builder — this is the part we were responsible for.

  • Engineering work on the bespoke battery pack for the car.
  • Engineering work on the 48V low-voltage system that runs the car’s electronics.
  • The vehicle software stack, built by us.
  • Telemetry integrated end to end with real-time AI coaching, used to coach drivers at a race school.
  • ERA Advanced’s own website, also designed and built by OzDyne.

For context rather than credit: this is the gen1 car, which we had no involvement in. It was the starting point the ARC4 was developed from, and it is the environment the systems we worked on have to survive — a real car, under load, on a real circuit.
