About the founder

Ozdyne was founded by Oz Maliphant. What follows — the roles, the shipped credits, the awards — is his own career, which began in 1997 and is still going: the most recent credits are from 2025. It belongs to him rather than to the company, and it is here because it is the reason the practice can do what it does. All of it is checkable.

The path here

Ozdyne grew out of nearly thirty years in the games industry. The last two decades of that were spent inside a Fortune 500 games company, across seven roles — starting as a game tester, moving through IT, into game development, then into cybersecurity, anti-cheat detections and threat hunting.

Seven roles across twenty years inside one large organisation is the credential, not a footnote to it. Testing games, building them, securing them and hunting threats inside them weren’t separate careers — they were one continuous path through the same systems, at increasing depth. That’s also where the AI work started: years spent applying AI to security and game-team problems inside that company, well before it was offered as a service to anyone else.

Twenty-three shipped titles

Nearly thirty years in games isn’t an abstraction. Oz is credited on 23 shipped titles, on a public record anyone can check — and the most recent credits are security ones: Application Security Analyst on Battlefield 6 and Battlefield: REDSEC, Security Engineer on F1 22.

That is the experience this practice is built on, and it is why the security work and the motorsport work aren’t two different businesses. Titles at that scale bring adversaries who adapt to your detections in days, telemetry measured in petabytes, and no tolerance for a detection that fires an hour late. The constraints are the same ones that show up in a client’s detection pipeline — they just arrived earlier, and at consumer scale.

Instrumenting cars, long before ARC4

For Need for Speed: Rivals and Hot Pursuit, that meant Oz rigging cars for capture: microphones taped around the exhausts, booms braced against the bodywork, and a connection into the vehicle’s CAN bus to data-log what the car was actually doing while it was recorded — at Dunsfold, among other places.

Which is why there are so many cars on a site about security and data. Capturing telemetry off a vehicle in 2012 and the real-time telemetry stack we built for the ARC4 today are the same problem: get clean data off hardware that wasn’t designed to give it to you, and make something useful of it before the moment has passed. The domain changed. The work didn’t.

How we work

We work as embedded engineers, not a bench of resources rotated onto your account — the person scoping an engagement is the person doing the work. AI is used the same way throughout: as a force multiplier for that engineer, never as a replacement for the judgement a client is actually paying for.
